Meeting Minutes

I. Call to order - Tim Nauman called to order the fall meeting of the Glen Marr Homeowner’s Association on Saturday, October 10, 2015

II. Approval of minutes from last meeting - The minutes were approved

III.Treasurer’s report - Joyce Fox reported that as of September 30, 2015 we had $6,102.07 in the fund.  After expenses and setting aside $750.00 for the dock fund, our balance is currently $4,905.16.

IV. Ongoing issues

  1. Docks.  At the spring meeting a dock fund was established for upkeep.  The East docks will opt out of the fund.  There are 4 docks at this location.
  2. The West docks will establish the fund to maintain docks and make repairs.
  3. The dock committee will meet and discuss this issue and report back to the group at the spring meeting.
  4. Pond.  There is still confusion over who owns the pond.  The county does not have this readily available.  Tim Nauman looked into this several years ago.. Maintenance of the pond is the responsibility of the Homeowner’s Association.
  5. Joyce recommended that a separate meeting be called  to look into this further, but upon further discussion we decided to table the issue and not go further with the county until the homeowners make a decision on pursuing any mineral rights
  6. Beach improvement
  7. There may be funds through the conservancy to rip-wrap the beach area and improve the safety of the area.  Tim and Monte have talked to MWCD about this and we will continue to pursue assistance for this issue.
  8. July 4th decorating results
  9. Russ and Sharon Bohaty judged this year’s July 4th decorating competition.  The Aldergates won the competition and will not be assessed membership fees for 2016.  The Nauman’s took 2nd place.  Congratulations.
  10. Lighting -
  11. Russ Bohaty contacted 4 contractors about installing lights at the dock area.  The bids ranged from $10,000 to $12,000.  The cost of materials is $1500 to $2000 if we do the work ourselves.  Russ will put together information with options.
  12. Officers
  13. The current group of officers will continue to serve the association.  If anyone else is interested in serving, please contact Tim Nauman, Monte Fox, Joyce Fox, or Mimi Wilson.
