Glen-Mar Homeowners Association
Fall 2014 Newsletter

It doesn't seem possible that we have taken the docks out and have declared an end to Summer 2014, but we have. The dock removal process went smoothly with about 10 men who helped with the labor. Thanks to all.
Tim Nauman presided over the homeowners' meeting.
Treasury report
Joyce Fox reported a balance of $4525.48 in the association checking account. (We did not discuss dues, so annual dues will remain the same ($50.00) for the next fiscal year.)
Checks are due on January 1, 2015 and should be paid to Glen-Mar Homeowners Association. Payment should be sent to Joyce Fox at Glen Marr Homeowner’s Association Treasurer.

Old Business
Muskingham Watershed Conservancy District
Association members did not meet with Troy Bichsel this year. Tim Nauman and Steve Harrison attended one of the information sessions last year. (Troy is the representative for Atwood Homeowners. He can be reached at 330.556.5102 or at tbichsel@MWCD.org. Any interested person is able to attend conservancy meetings. We will have representatives attend the February meeting and report any new developments for 2015.
Russ Bohaty reported that the Conservancy has put the GlenMarr swimming area on its projects list. Tim Nauman will draft correspondence from the association to the conservancy to inquire about the proposed repairs before the end of the year. Additional follow-up will occur in February.
Glen Marr Signs
Thanks to Russ Bohaty who made new signs at the dock and swimming area. These are beautiful and we received complements from the Conservancy on their appearance.
Neighborly competition
Last 4th of July an impromptu decorating "competition" was held between the Bohaty, Jones, and Fox families. We talked about expanding this to a neighborhood celebration next 4th of July. Boat decoration or a golf cart (mower, etc.) was suggested as a possibility. More on this later.

New Business
Dock maintenance
Mike Johnson raised the issue of the deterioration of some of the boards on the docks and approach area. The dock committee will work on the required maintenance. It was voted to allocate up to $500 for the repair. In addition to the boards replacement, clamps are needed to stabilize the docks. This work will take place after the lake is drained. (Monte Fox indicated that water release would begin early this year (around November 1) to allow for lake maintenance.
Pond
The old floating dock at the pond is in bad shape and unsafe. We will explore a way to replace it with another structure that will provide a breeding area for the fish in the pond. More details on this will be provided in the spring.
Dock lights
Russ Bohaty suggested that the association purchase solar cell self-contained lights to illuminate the dock area. These do not need electricity and will provide enough light to improve the visibility and safety of the dock area. The cost is $499 for each light. A motion was made and seconded for Russ to purchase one light to determine its effectiveness. Approval was unanimous.
Officers reinstated
Joyce opened the floor for nominations of new officers. As no one stepped forward, the current officers agreed to remain in place for the next year. They are: Tim Nauman, President; Monte Fox, Vice-President; Joyce Fox, Treasurer; and Miriam Wilson, Secretary.
Minutes from the fall homeowners meeting
Minutes will be posted on the Glen Marr Homeowners Association Facebook page and will be e-mailed to all association members. An updated directory will also be posted. If any member wants a hard copy of either the minutes or the directory, e-mail Miriam Wilson at mimischenk@aol.com.
